Additional Stories I'm Passionate About
Laundry Day
A young Ecuadorian boy grows up in the US with a familial routine that tests the bonds between family, and questions the divide between generations."Laundry Day" is a 3-episode short story webcomic I created in 2020 for Webtoon's short story webcomic contest under the category "heart". Although it did not win, it was recognized by the Webtoon team as a runner-up, and to have a story that involved a lot of personal elements be recognized by the company meant a lot.
Loaves that Lead To Flowers
"Loaves into Flowers" is a visual poem of admiration as a daughter watches her mother open up her bakery in the morning. As the story goes on, there is a realization that the poem isn’t just from the daughter towards her mother, but a mutual admiration of the mother towards her daughter.

Ángel is a newly arrived immigrant who is experiencing his first winter in Chicago. The film follows his realization of what it may mean to be away from home for a very long time.
Inspired by my immigrant community of Albany Park, "First Winter" explores the reality of immigrants not being able to see their home again through the lens of kids who may be facing this now. I strive to tell stories of underrepresented communities and wish to create animations that inspire a kinder world.
Visual Development ArtMy biggest inspirations come from animated movies like Song of the Sea, Lilo and Stitch, Ernest and Celestine, and The Tale of Princess Kaguya. I think all of these movies manage to create kinder worlds through their form.
The film is current undergoing the festival circuit and has won two awards: "Best Animation" in Love Lives in SF and "Best of show" at the DUM-D's. It has also been selected as part of SVA's "Best Of" Thesis screening and the Philidelphia Asian American Film Festival. It will be released on Youtube at the end of its festival run Fall 2026.Read more about it here

"ARIBA's DELIVERY AT THE HEALING HOME" (2024)
"Ariba's Delivery at the Healing Home" is my third year film at School of Visual Arts.Ariba arrives at the Healing Home to deliver food for her mother, but is perturbed by her mother's new doctors.
This is my third year animated film at School of Visual Arts- “Ariba’s Delivery at the Healing Home”. Inspired by my best friend’s home city of Hyderabad, India, I wanted to create a lighthearted film that captures a well-intentioned protagonist in a comedically not as well-intentioned situation. I took visual inspiration from animated media such as “Ernest and Celestine” (2012), "Madeline"(1993), and "Babar"(1989). Research for the film included looking into Indian mythology, zoology, and even exploring the city through Google Street View. The film was conceived, written, and animated by myself, with a hired composer for music. It is 2:17 minutes long, with production beginning in September 2023 and ending May 2024.
